INCONSISTENCY OF ART OF THE BAROQUE EPOCH

Abstract.
The article examines the Baroque art having originated in the tragic epoch of the European history - after the upheavals of the Thirty Years’ War, which gave rise to doubts in the harmonious world arrangement and human rationality. Such features as unrestrained passion turning into exaltation and strict order; mechanism and irrationality; craving for luxury and sensual pleasures and sharp awareness of fast running time, futility of human existence are peculiar to the Baroque art.
