Abstract.
The article deals with one of the main political science categories - political regime. The author analyzes the essence of different theoretical approaches to the interpretation of this concept. The paper studies the problem of the classification of the form of political regime and at the same time substantiates the necessity of the development of a new classification system based on the differences of political regimes according to their cultural and civilization identity.
