“THE RUSSIAN FRAGMENT” IN J.-A. ESMÉNARD’S POEM “NAVIGATION”

Abstract. The article analyzes the fragment of J.-A. Esménard’s poem “Navigation” dedicated to the construction of St. Petersburg by Peter the First. The peculiarities of the content and poetics of “the Russian fragment” unusual for the normative descriptive poem are considered in connection with the author’s theoretical-literary (the idea of ​​ complex work) and political (the idea of ​​ imperial power) positions.
