SERGEI DOVLATOV’S GAME LITERARY TEXT IN THE ORIGINAL AND IN THE TRANSLATION

Abstract.
The article discusses the singularity of game literary text, which is one of the key features of Sergei Dovlatov’s mythogenic poetics, in the original and in the English translations. The analysis of the English versions of the stories published in the magazine “The New Yorker” and the narrative “Pushkin Hills” translated by the daughter of the writer shows that in the early translations many of the elements of this text were subjected to compression, whereas in the later translations they were preserved including due to linguocultural substitutions.
