Abstract.
The article examines the development of cooperatives and collective farms in the Siberian Cossacks’ rural settlements in the period of the new economic policy of the Soviet state. The author focuses on the basic tendencies and difficulties while forming collective farms on the initiative of the local Soviet bodies and analyzes the role of cooperation in the transformation of habitual practices and styles typical for traditional Cossack housekeeping.
