Abstract.
The diversity of the social structures of the contemporary society creates a field for topical scientific discussions. They are of special interest for countries with transforming social relations and new social groups. They include modern China. The purpose of the paper is to analyze the theories of the social structure of the society and to reveal the possibilities of their use for the examination of the social system of the Chinese society.
