Abstract.
The article is devoted to the problems of social mobility in Kabardino-Balkaria under the conditions of industrialization and development of the Soviet education system that provided a lot of variants for strategies and methods of an individual’s social adaptation to the changing political and social-economic conditions. An opinion is substantiated that the intensity of social mobility processes in the period of stagnation started to decline gradually due to the transformation of a number of social mobility channels into the mechanisms of social-status groups’ reproduction that led to relative stabilization of the social landscape in the Republic by the beginning of restructuring.
