Abstract. In the article it is proved that Poisson’s ratio becomes equal to 0.5 on yield surface in stress space, but with development of plastic deformations it decreases again. A new, more accurate condition of plastic incompressibility is obtained. It is proved that with appearance of plastic deformations spread rate of longitudinal elastic waves in infinite medium increases infinitely, which makes it possible to transmit information at a very high speed.
