Abstract.
The paper studies gender self-consciousness of the youth, the socio-demographic group, on which gender asymmetry overcoming in the society largely depends. In this context, measurement of masculinity-femininity of this group has been carried out, the study of students’ gender stereotypes and gender ideals, as well as the analysis of tendencies of their change have been implemented. The author concludes that in the modern society there is a large number of androgynous personalities that have adaptability and flexibility of behaviour in the society.
