Abstract.
This article examines political discourse. In connection with recent emergence of this concept and absence of a common definition the author studies different approaches to defining political discourse and its peculiarities. Characteristics of this type of discourse singled out by various authors are investigated by the example of Barack Obama’s speech after winning election in 2012.
