Abstract.
Thanks to influence of German philosophy two directions were formed in history of Russian philosophy of the XIX-XX centuries. One direction was oriented towards the rationalist tendency and had bent for Hegel’s philosophy. Another direction was in the tradition of German idealism. The article examines influence of Schelling’s philosophical system on Russian culture of the XIX and early XX century. The ambiguous role of Schelling’s philosophy in history of the Russian philosophical thought is noted.
