FOREIGN POLICY OF PRINCE ELECTOR OF BRANDENBURG - FRIEDRICH WILHELM - IN 1640-1648

Abstract. This article is devoted to the foreign policy of the Great Prince Elector, Friedrich Wilhelm, at the beginning of his governing. During the first years of his governing the great all-European event, Westphal Peace Congress, took place. During this period the territory of Brandenburg was greatly enlarged. Due to the difficult struggle the young Prince Elector managed to start the transformation of Brandenburg-Prussian state into one of the greatest European empires.
