Abstract.
In the article irony as the world vision base of post art nouveau culture, its attribute and essential characteristic are considered. Special attention is paid to finding out the socio-cultural functions of irony in the epoch of post art nouveau. It is suggested and argued that during the specified cultural-historical period the considerable transformation of irony functions takes place especially concerning the expansion of the functioning field itself.
