Abstract.
The article is devoted to the specificity of considering authority and state phenomena in I. Wallerstein and his followers' school of world-system analysis. The contraposition of territorial and capitalistic authority strategies allowed the researchers of this school creating the original theory of macro-social changes overcoming linear-phased approach to history in Marxism and classical theories of modernization.
