Abstract.
The author considers icon painting technique as the consecutive stages of the world and human beings creation from the orthodox tradition position. All the stages of icon painting are penetrated with the deepest philosophical sense, their pathetic studying allows solving the gnosiological problem of cognition subject and forming steady world-view positions defining the quality and way of life and also directing mankind towards spiritual renewal.
