Abstract.
The article is devoted to the analysis of such crime as master murder specified in Law Code of 1497. There are different opinions among scientists concerning the meaning of this notion. On the basis of the analysis of different scientific interpretations of master murder and legal acts of Moscow State the author comes to the conclusion that the notion master murder meant a master's murder by his villein and a landowner or great landowner's murder by his peasant.
