Abstract.
The author considers the problem of a vibraphone performer's choice concerning the method of holding four mallets. The research is conducted on the basis of the analysis of native and foreign literature devoted to the questions of four mallets technology in the process of which the author reveals the advantages and disadvantages of the most widespread mallets holdings in native performers' practice.
