Abstract.
The author describes social movement within South-West region in Governor-General D. G. Bibikov's estimations, pays special attention to the analysis of the social movement reasons which was conducted by D. G. Bibikov and shows that the high-ranking official's views on the reasons of the social movement remained essentially unchanged over 1838-1852 unlike his estimations of its activity degree.
