KOREAN HISTORY WRITING TRADITION (THE PERIOD OF THREE KINGDOMS - LI DYNASTY) IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN HISTORIOGRAHPY DEVELOPMENT

Abstract. The author analyzes the little-studied problem of history writing tradition formation on the Korean Peninsula since the first historical writing onset till the period of Li dynasty, reveals the origin of the notion history in the East, determines the first historians' specificity and functions, describes the most significant historical works of that period and considers the influence nature of China history writing on the Korean historiographical tradition development.
