Abstract.
The authors compare the theoretical and methodological approaches to economic history analysis in the context of institutions theory, and substantiate the relevance of D. North's institutional theory, considering the influence of ideas and ideologies, transaction expenses and pat-depending effect on the functioning of political and economic markets and the economic development of the country.
