Abstract.
The author analyzes the connection of the culture crisis at the turn of the XIXth-XXth centuries and New Art phenomenon within the framework of the Spanish philosopher J. Ortega y Gasset's culturological doctrine, pays special attention to the reasons, as well as the typology of crisis subjects, and considers New Art as the reaction to the culture antigen -man-mass domination.
