Abstract.
The author considers one of the major problems in civil law theory - the notion of branch system structural element, determines and studies the characteristics of this science category basing on the achievements of philosophical thought, and substantiates the conclusion that the norms, institutions and sub-branches of civil law, as branch system structural elements, reflect the essence of subject, method, principles and functions of civil-legal regulation.
