CONFESSORS-JESUITS AT MAXIMILIAN I OF BAVARIA'S COURT

Abstract. The author pays special attention to the questions of European rulers' confessors institution formation in the XVIIth century (by the example of Bavarian Duchy), and undertakes the attempt to recreate the collective portrait of the confessors of Maximilian I of Bavaria, their behavioural practices, mental attitudes and strategies under the conditions of the Thirty Years War and Counter-Reformation.
