POLITICAL CRISIS OF 1989 IN PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA AND ITS INFLUENCE ON U.S.-CHINA RELATIONS

Abstract. The author reveals the consequences of the political crisis of 1989 in People's Republic of China for U.S.-China relations, analyzes the basic approaches of G. Bush the Senior's administration to the estimation of the events at Tiananmen Square and also the content of the sanctions concerning China, estimates the adequacy of the USA political leaders' reaction and public opinion on the political crisis in PRC and the consequences of these decisions for the USA foreign policy.
