STRUCTURAL BALANCE PRINCIPLE OF VERTICAL PARADIGM AND HORIZONTAL SYNTAGMA IN ROMAN JACOBSON'S STRUCTURAL LINGUISTICS

Abstract.
The author discusses the unique philosophical-linguistic conception of Roman Jacobson limiting the sphere of consciousness by language system activity principles, and shows that according to Jacobson the balancing principle of perfectly imaginary meaning paradigmatic vertical and real-symbolic sign syntagmatic horizontal is the basis for consciousness-language functioning, which tense confrontation topological coordinate is the opposition of centripetal convergence and centrifugal displacement.
