RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH ROLE IN BURYATS' INTEGRATION INTO RUSSIAN EMPIRE ADMINISTRATIVE-POLITICAL SYSTEM

Abstract. The author reveals Russian Orthodox Church role in Siberian outlanders' integration into the administrative-political system of the Russian Empire by the example of Buryats, considers Trans-Baikal and Irkutsk spiritual missions' activity on Orthodoxy expansion among Buryats through missionary camps, which they created in the centre of Buryat departments, and presents missionary camps priests' reports on executed work to higher church authorities, which show that they carried out propaganda activity, taught reading and writing, explained the essence of Christian doctrine, taught Orthodox customs and traditions, analyzed the state of things.
