Abstract.
The author considers the agrarian reform of the beginning of the last century influence on cooperation development within the European Russian North, revealing the correlation of state reforms with the development of social, self-governing, self-organizing peasant organizations - cooperatives - the author shows cooperative movement as the factor of peasant self-development, self-rescue and self-defense and mentions the harmonic combination of traditions and innovations elements in the cooperation of the beginning of the ХХth century.
