Abstract.
The author reveals the risk factors that existed in the 1970s - the first half of the 1980s in the industrial cities of the European North of Russia, which increased the cities devastating impact on the environment, and analyzes the work of urban Nature Protection Society departments and other public organizations and workers' initiatives on reducing environment pollution with industrial emissions.
