Abstract.
The author describes the historical aspects of metrological service origin and development in Russia, analyzes Kursk verifying tent activity in the sphere of measures condition and measuring equipment improvement, basing on archival materials studies the process of verifying activity organization within Kursk and Orel provinces at the beginning of the ххth century, and reveals the basic directions of metrological service creation in these provinces.
