Abstract.
The authors consider editing means of hero image formation in the Russian culture and their historical variability, undertake the attempt to translate the texts of artistic culture that represent hero images into the cinematic language of editing, and basing on value tendencies consideration present the image-bearing and meaningful typology of the heroes prevailing in the Russian culture in different historical periods.
