JAPAN POLICY ALTERATION IN THE UN IN THE 80S - THE BEGINNING OF THE 90S OF THE XXTH CENTURY

Abstract.
The author considers one of the major problems of Japan foreign policy at the turn of the 80s and 90s of the ХХth century - the struggle for Japan status rise in the UN, pays special attention to the estimation of Japan activity in the UN by Japanese society, as well as the leading states position in relation to this problem, and comes to the conclusion that the main partner of Japan in reforming the UN Security Council was Germany, but the position of the permanent members of this authority did not allow changing significantly the position of Japan in the UN.
