Abstract. The author considers the interpretation of percussion instruments, reveals their character and interrelation with symphony orchestra instruments in the context of the dramaturgy of one of E. Podgaits's concerts - Concerto brevis, which differs on a number of parameters from other composer's works identical in genre, substantiates that the address to the set of these tasks helps reveal the single, individual-authorial variety of the genre - duet of ensembles (percussive and instrumental ones), and tells that the scientific novelty is in the revelation of this problem (in the works of E. Podgaits) that was not concerned before.
