Abstract.
The authors analyze the process of the change of author's image semiotic function in the culture of late avant-garde in Russia (the 1920s), pay particular attention to the characteristics of I. P. Smirnov's methodological strategies (by the example of the authors' creativity from the group Association of Real Art, in particular Konstantin Vaginov (1899-1934)), prove that author's figure in Russian avant-gardists' works is gradually losing its artistic authority, turning into the image of authorial parodic personality, and present the new possibilities of research interpretation in the traditions of psychoanalytically oriented literary criticism.
