ACTIVITY OF DOMESTIC DANCERS AND CHOREOGRAPHERS - EMIGRANTS OF THE FIRST WAVE IN CHINA (BY THE EXAMPLE OF V. K. IZHEVSKII'S CREATIVITY)

Abstract. The author describes the creativity of Vladimir Konstantinovich Izhevskii (1909-1996), who worked in China during 1925-1956, and became known as a dancer, choreographer, director and teacher; as the basis of the article considers Izhevskii's memories preserved in the form of audio recordings recorded in 1986, inscribes Izhevskii's creative way in the historical-cultural context of the era associated with the first wave emigrants' activity in China, and comes to the conclusions about Russian emigrants' contribution to classical dance development in China.
