Abstract.
The author considers the problem of image in the process of philosophical cognition, the place, which it occupies in the symbolic space of the material world, emphasizes the fact that image opens the way to the cognition of things, and then to a philosopher's cognition of himself, and conducts the analysis by considering such phenomena as eidos and symbol in order to outline the contours of the vivid philosophical way based on personal perception as opposed to the abstract categorical-conceptual way.
