Abstract.
The author studies the evolution of the basic demographic parameters of family in the rural area within Krasnoyarsk district in the 1960-1980s, singles out the main reasons of reducing the average size of family, also discusses the quantitative differences between the territorial rates and the average Russian ones, and considers the development of family sphere in the context of modernization process, which key factor was the change of women's social role and behavioural gender attitudes.
