Abstract.
The author discusses the modern system of agricultural land use, reveals the process of formation and development in historical sense, determines the stages, considers the evolution of the system during the transition of agriculture to market relations, studies difficulties and contradictions, shows the first experience of land use under new conditions, and conducts the comparative analysis of the land use system of the end of the 1990s - the beginning of the 2000s by the example of Saratov region.
