Abstract.
The author tells about the history of the creation of the synthetic performance Saint Sebastian's Martyrdom by Annunzio - Debussy, affirms the uniqueness and value of mysterial experience on the creative way of its originators, conducts the analysis of the literary work and musical pieces that allows revealing the elements of mystery genre, and how they exist in a new way within the conception of the performance, and singles out sacral topics in the basis of the drama: biblical and mythological ones, as well as the legends and philosophical ideas of the XXth century.
