Abstract.
The author for the first time purposefully summarizes the material on the pedagogical heritage of the Russian Sinology founder, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Nikita Yakovlevich Bichurin (1777-1853), and presents such directions of his research and pedagogical activity as teaching in seminaries and secular specialized school; the preparation of textbooks, teaching materials; the creation of Kyakhta School of Chinese Language in Irkutsk region and the organization of educational process in it, etc.
