Abstract.
The author studies Jadidism as the ideology of education reformation with the purpose to create a new model of national school in Bashkortostan at the beginning of the ХХ
th century. Reformatory movement was caused by powerful social progress in Russia at the end of the XIX
th – the beginning of the XX
th century, the awakening of peoples’ national consciousness during the first revolutions, the understanding of the place and significance of their history and culture in all-Russian development. All of this was transformed into the need to create a new type of school with general education of population and in line with all-Russian educational reform while maintaining progressive national foundations.
