STANLEY BALDWIN AND PROGRAMME OF “NEW CONSERVATISM”

Abstract. The author reveals the main content of “new conservatism” programme, which was taken as a basis of the British conservatives’ internal policy after World War II and determined the popularity of the conservatives’ ideas in the British society, pays considerable attention to the personality of the Conservative Party leader - Stanley Baldwin as one of the creators of “new conservatism”, on whom the implementation of its principles in policy largely depended, and tells that this policy is one of the examples of social unity achievement under extremely difficult social-economic conditions.
