GOLD-MINING INDUSTRY OF THE NORTH-EAST OF RUSSIA IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE 1960S: MAIN DIRECTIONS AND RESULTS OF ACTIVITY

Abstract.
The author for the first time analyzes the dynamics of gold-mining industry development in the North-East of the country after the liquidation of the National Economy Council and Kosygin’s reform beginning in industry. Gold-mining was carried out by the production association “Severovostokzoloto”, which gave 373 tons of the currency metal to the country during 1966-1970. “Severovostokzoloto” mined more than a third of the all-Union mining of the currency metal and retained its status of the gold-mining leader. However, many serious problems were not resolved satisfactorily.
