Abstract.
The author postulates the problem of secrecy state in the records management of the local authorities of political censorship within Ural – the bodies of the General Directorate for the Protection of State Secrets in the Press, comes to the conclusion that by the end of the 1930s the procedure of secret information keeping and storing in Ural branches of the General Directorate for the Protection of State Secrets in the Press did not meet normative requirements, and tells that information about state secrets sometimes became public, whereupon the professional activity of political inspectors provoked a lot of criticism of the party and state leaders.
