“AMERS” BY KAIJA SAARYAHO: SPECTRAL PRINCIPLES EMBODIMENT

Abstract. The author considers the piece of music “Amers” by the Finnish composer Kaija Saaryaho, gives the composer’s brief biography, as well as the characteristics of spectral direction in modern music, undertakes the first attempt in native musicology to consider the complex of musical-expressive means and artistic preferences of the composer in this work, and also covers the specificity of Saaryaho’s composer process relating to the development of sound material and the use of interpolation technique.
