Abstract.
The author analyzes the economic policy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire by the materials of the periodical of the Ministry of Finance of Russia “Herald of Finance, Industry and Commerce”, reveals the specificity of Austria and Hungary policy on the stabilization of financial sector and the stimulation of navigation development, and comes to the conclusion that the role of the state in the economic life of the Habsburg Empire increased at the beginning of the XX
th century.
