Abstract. The author tells that the textile art of Scandinavia is poorly studied in Russia, and in this connection “AB MMF” workshop production is of interest for the Russian designers and textile artists, discusses the questions related to the principle of pattern formation in carpets made according to the Swedish conceptualists’ sketches for the “AB MMF” union, considers in detail the cultural phenomenon of “Carpet of the Year”, which includes a creative part and craft embodiment in material by means of hand weaving, and names the representatives of actual art in Sweden, whose names are unknown in Russia.
