NOTION OF PAST IN PHILOSOPHICAL CATEGORIES SYSTEM

Abstract.
The author analyzes the ways of the philosophical conceptualization of the past, and reveals three main ways: 1) the representation of the past as a sequence moment, prior to the present one; 2) the understanding of the past as imaginary, a phantasm or a dream that can intrude on the present; in this case the subject of memory belongs to the past to a greater extent than to the present; and 3) the presence of the past in the present in the feeling of existence irreversibility in the experience of death, duty, guilt, or faith.
