Abstract.
The author, basing on the analysis of archival material, studies the questions of the organization and activity of Vladikavkaz Department of the Supreme Tribunal of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, ascertains that from 1921 till 1923 the Department was the supreme judicial body of the MASSR, performing the functions of supervision and cassation in relation to its local tribunal justice bodies, and tells that having played a role in the formation of the soviet judicial system in the region during the transition period from the Civil War to peace, the Department was abolished in the course of the judicial reform in 1922.
