The author studies the views of Italy and Vatican on the Soviet-German rapprochement, and comes to the conclusions about the influence of the foreign policy interests of Italy and Vatican on the development of relations between Germany and Soviet Russia and their role as mediators in the German-Soviet political and economic contacts.
