Abstract.
The article presents the analysis of the evolution of public associations development in modern Russia, distinguishes between the notions of public associations and non-profit organizations, considers the social functions of public associations as the subjects of the institutionalization of interaction with the authorities, and the modern statistics on third-sector organizations, and on the number of their organizational-legal forms. The author suggests a new method of the most active associations identification with the use of modern information and communication technologies – search engines Yandex and Google.
